برای اولین بار بیوپسی توده پستان تحت هدایت ام آر آی در مرکز pardis noor راه اندازی گردید در این روش نمونه ای از بافت پستان تحت هدایت ام آر آی برداشته می شود . با هدایت ام آر آی موقعیت ضایعه موجود در بافت پستان و محل قرار گیری سوزن بیوپسی برای گرفتن نمونه تعیین می گردد .
سوزن بیوپسی از طریق پوست وارد ضایعه شده و نمونه بافت را خارج می کند .

این تکنیک نسبت به جراحی کم تهاجمی تر بوده و در مقایسه با روش بیوپسی تحت ماموگرافی دارای اشعه نمی باشد و از طرفی دیگر دقت بسیار بالاتری در ناحیه مشکوک جهت بیوپسی دارد .
زمان بهبود بیمار پس از بیوپسی کوتاه بوده و بیمار به سرعت به کارهای روزمره باز می گردد .
